If your cylinder walls turn out to be good you could just rering it and throw it together with new bearings and gaskets.
Cylinder wall scratch these motors arent delicate little flowers.
It is a fairly deep scratch easily catch a fingernail on it.

Guys there is a tiny scratch in my truck s engine.
I bet if you take it to the machine shop they ll tell you to properly fix it they will have to bore all 8 cylinders turn the crank hot tank new cam bearings and before you know it they ll have the tab up to a 1000 bucks.
It is probably a couple 1000 s of an inch at the most.

Owner says a piece of the ceramic around the electrode of the 3 plug broke off and caused it.
Performance and repair garage.
He changed out the plug and has been driving it for the last year like that.
Only problem is burning alot of oil especially at start up and notices blue smoke between gears.
Meaning the scratch is not raised.
It s a decent scratch or maybe even considered a light gouge.
If the motors out of the car just run a hone through it.

I can barely feel it but it s enough to worry me.
Bolt it back up and call it good.
If i can hone it out can the rings be adjusted to fill in the couple thousandths that are honed out.
