Lift the garage door so the roller and the length of track you bent are lined up again. Similarly if a roller pops out of the track the repair is to uninstall the hinge first then tip the roller wheel into the track. Use a rubber mallet to tap the edge of the roller back into the track. Some units will actually reconnect themselves but this is not typically the case.

Raise and lower the door manually to ensure it is operating properly. Open the door partially to move the wheels to the point where they are jumping off the track. Make sure the roller is in the center of the track. Locate where the rollers are jumping off the track.

Once you have located the position use locking pliers to hold the door open by clamping them on one end of the track. The first thing to do is hit the door button. The roller has a stem that fits into a bracket sleeve while the roller itself fits into a track. The roller should smoothly move up and down in the track.

The garage door track curves up at the bottom to hold the wheel in place. Set the roller back in the track. Hit the end of the roller in the hinge with a hammer to push it back into place. If simply hitting the button does not work you will have to take more action.

However it s not guaranteed that the roller will stay there no matter what. After troubleshooting the tracks to find the problem you can now get to work putting the rollers back on track. Detach the door from the automatic opener by pulling the overhead string to disengage the opener. Open up the track with pliers.

Now you will be able to open the door manually. Now take the pliers and pry open the track. If this doesn t work proceed to the next step. Open the door while holding the roller against the track.

The next step is to go to the inside of the garage door. Remove the locking pliers. The doors on your garage are moved smoothly up and down by garage door rollers these are held in place by brackets that are attached to the door of your garage. Once the door is back on track knock the track back into position with a rubber mallet.

This makes it impossible to replace a garage door roller without unbolting the hinge that holds the roller from the door panels.
