Install A Range Hood Roof Vent

The lower half of the flange sits on top of the shingles.

Install a range hood roof vent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Slide the vent under the shingles so they cover the top half of the vent flange. We would love to install a vent hood but don t know how to vent it. On the roof use a jigsaw to cut a round hole.
