Install the new lock according to the manufacturer s instructions.
How to install a garage door side lock.
Use a lock assembly kit to mount the new lock on the inside of the door.
Release the tension on side mounted extension springs by lifting the door and locking it in place on each side with a pair of locking pliers.
Attach the bolt and pin with screws.
Locate the screw holes on the garage door s second section directly to the left of the track s rectangular slot.
Grab the pin with a pair of pliers to remove the pin from the shaft.
Remove the pin that secures the inside lock handle to the lock shaft in the center of the door panel.
You ll need a helping hand on the other side of the door to help run the lock through to the other side.
Spray lubricant into the openings and seams on each of the latch mechanisms at the outer sides of the door.
These open screw holes will hold the slide lock in place.
Once installed turn the handle 90 degrees to lock the slide lock.
It has pre drilled holes for installation.
Place a nail over the pin and tap the nail with a hammer until you expose part of the pin.
Fit the provided extension tube onto the nozzle on a can of spray lubricant.
To lock the door from the outside to lock the slide lock from the outside you need to install a lock handle with the spindle inserted into the square hole next to the operating lever.

Tie the extension spring to the roller track then detach the cable from the bottom bracket with a pair of pliers.
